October 3rd, 2016 – The Hapalua, Hawaii’s fastest growing sporting event, is excited to announce that early entry has opened for the 6th Annual Hapalua Race taking place on Sunday April 9th, 2017.
“We give Hawaii residents a head start by opening entry for a special introductory rate of just $48 which also includes a complimentary In-Training shirt. This is in addition to the race shirt, so those who enter early in October score two shirts for one race,” said Dr. Jim Barahal, President of the Hapalua.
The Hapalua, Hawaii’s Half Marathon, starts at the Duke Kahanamoku statue and ends 13.1 miles later at the Honolulu Marathon Finish Line in Kapi‘olani Beach Park. All participants will receive a finishers medal. Racers ohana are welcome to join runners at the finish line for a range of activities, live music, and treats including malasadas, shave ice, and more.
“Last year we had 7,300 runners,” said Dr. Barahal, “This year we’re expecting closer to 10,000.”
Hawaii Runners are urged to sign up now to lock in the lowest entry fee. The early entry offer ends on October 16th. After the first wave, the prices continue to go up until the day of the race. So get a move on!
